UK SEO Company Answers If No Follow Helps PR Molding

Category: On Page SEO & Optimization Posted by Admin
Page Rank is in short referred to as PR and is an important element in SEO. The average PR will definitely increase the site ranking. SEO Company follows different styles and patterns to achieve a good PR for a site. However we are many times baffled with the question if No Follow helps PR Molding.

No Follow SEO

UK SEO Company defines No follow as a type of link condom which will allow you to protect your links which you wish should not be followed by search engine or others. This is specifically useful when you do not want to pass on the PR of your page or you do not want Google to crawl through the links actually put in by spammers.

Below is a general HTML No Follow tag:
<a href="http://www.example.com/" rel="nofollow">discount drugs</a>

Different search engines have different attitude to the No Follow links as below:

•    Google takes the tag in literal sense and will not follow it. However many SEOs opine that Google still follows these links but does not index them and include in the ranking of a page.
•    Yahoo spiders crawl through the links but do not include them in page ranking.
•    For Bing it is not certain whether it considers No Follow links for page ranking.
•    Ask.com respects the no follow links and takes no action for a No Follow link.

The basic concept of No Follow attribute is very useful to maintain the ranking of a website. However it should be remembered that it is not the sole attribute that is going to rank your site higher. It is just a protection to your site and not the ultimate way. It is a very small part of the whole SEO process. Much more things go into SEO other than the NO Follow attribute.
