What Makes a Traffic Generating Title Tag

Category: Off Page Optimization Posted by Admin
Title is the heading of a particular page and is HTML coded like
<head>
<title> What Makes a Traffic Generating Title Tag </title>
</head>
Title is the first thing search engine spiders will come across while crawling your web page. The title tag should not be left empty. It should not contain any default text. This happens mainly when using web page editing application.

Title tag SEO

The title should be eye catching and inviting. Just the title should be enough to make people click the link. Compare the title “SEO Services” and “Cheap SEO Services”. You will definitely agree with me that the latter sounds far interesting then SEO Services. Definitely the keyphrase “Cheap SEO Services” will have more traffic.

Title tag should be relevant to your page content. Search engines when come across the title tag, compare and study the relevance of the title to the content. Any mismatch found will annoy the search engines and affect the page ranking. Even visitors don’t like when the content is different or not up to the mark with the title.

The title tag should be self informative, in other words visitor should be able to guess the content of the page by reading the title. Have small and attractive titles of 66 characters for Google and 120 for Yahoo including space. Any title exceeding this will be copped by the search engine. 2-3 keywords can be put in the title. More keywords can be considered as spam and affect your website.  This will help you rank better. Some special characters like parenthesis, brackets, asterisks etc. and symbols of copyright (©), trademark (™), and registered trademark (®) can be represented in title tag by Google, Yahoo, MSN, AltaVista, ands AllTheWeb.  Use of these symbols and special characters will help your title stand out.

Certainly a lot more efforts and techniques go into search engine optimization.  Still title tag should also be considered as even a drop is crucial for filing a cup of water.
