Keyword Selection for your Website

Category: Keyword Research Posted by Admin
Keyword selection is one of the most crucial processes towards search engine optimization. Human profit making activities across the globe are focused in different fields of activities like food and catering, clothing, mobiles, oil, beauty salon, cars, bikes, bags, pets, belts and others. People while searching for a particular product or service online will put in a specific term to describe it. Such specific terms relating to a unique product or service are called keywords or key phrases.

Let’s take an example of a person looking for a Liverpool SEO company. Then the person will search using the word “Liverpool SEO Company”. In such cases the websites optimized for “Liverpool SEO Company” will be displayed in the first pages, thereby making people aware of the first ranking company in Liverpool for SEO services. This ranking of the company helps it gain more traffic and customers and lastly increased profits.

There are various tools like word tracker, overture, sandbox etc. available on google which can assist you in finding the right keywords, key phrases or a combination of keywords to best represent your business. These tools are free of cost and easy to use. Depending on the keywords found we can then start making a note about the competitiveness each keyword has and accordingly plan our search engine optimization techniques.

Keyword phrase that is a combination of 2-3 words are better as compared to single word. Though these may have less popularity they are effective as people want to search a product or service particularly. Like people looking for a “pen” may not search for only pen but search for “ink pen, gel pen, ball point pen, jotter pen and China pen” in particular. They should also be relevant to your site and should be equally distributed among the website. Initially you can start with including 2-3 keywords per page and then some other 2-3 keywords for some other page. This will make the content non repetitive and also will not sound like keyword stuffing. Keyword selection done in the best way is the key to effective search engine optimization.
