There will surely be no two opinions when I say SEO offers unlimited things to learn. The more you go into it you will find many more new things. You can surely keep yourself updated to all these new techniques through the various online and other media. However all this would require lot of time.

    SEO competition analyses

But if you ask a SEO company how to do it in the best way it would say through competitor analysis the task becomes lot easy. This is the reason why SEO company considers competitor analysis supreme. Any business is all about beating the competitor and the best way to do it is to find out what the competitor is doing and how. This process is called competitor analysis.

This becomes even more important for SEO because you have easy access to your competitor’s website and have various tools to learn what are the special things your competitor is doing to increase the ranking of a website? Once you are able to do this you will surely find some good SEO tricks and tactics which probably you are not aware of.

For example we all know that Google is no more considering Meta tag for deciding the rank of a website and so you might not be using it. But it is possible that your competitor might be using it and is able to rank good. Then maybe you can also do the same thing for your site and there are chances you might succeed.

Being a SEO you might have surely come across situations where your client’s site which was ranking 3rd suddenly ranks 10th and your competitor who was ranking 7th is ranking 2nd. In such situations if you do competitor analysis you can probably know what new has increased the ranking of your competitor site and decreased your ranking.

To the title optimisation for AJAX or Web 2.0 sites any aspiring SEO services provider would want to know what is AJAX. It is the abbreviation for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. Usually when a request is made on the website it refreshes itself before presenting the relevant page. But when AJAX is used the browser does not have to refresh itself to make a call to the website server.

    AJAX-SEO-tips

How does AJAX affect the SEO of a site? Content and on page optimisation are two important cards of the whole SEO. Search engines when inspect a site for the purpose of indexing place higher importance of content with respect to the keywords used, its length and where it is displayed. The best way to represent content so that it is easy for the search engines is to display it using HTML.

There is a difference in the way humans and search engines view a site. Search engines view a site for establishing relevancy while humans view it for getting information. However when AJAX is used to display content on the site it is still visible to the humans but not to the search engines unless coded nicely. This is irrespective of how well your content is written and how useful it is to increase traffic to your site.

All said if you still wish to include content in AJAX format then there are a few ways to include it which will not affect your ranking and also be effective. First for pages with AJAX content you can have different HTML pages for the people whose browsers do not support AJAX and the search engines. This task might sound difficult to many but it is a no worry for all those using PHP or ASP.

Second is adopting a minimalist approach to its use in the website. Restrict its use to only some pages which you think are less important to the search engines. AJAX can be effectively used for member pages which you would want not to be public and indexed by the search engines.

Conferences are a good source of spreading, gathering and sharing knowledge on certain topics. The same holds true for SEO conferences where experts from the industry get together and share their views opinions and what next can be done on the latest developments related to the search markets.

    SEO conference

All the SEO services providers would unanimously say yes to answer whether a SEO company should encourage SEO conferences as they have always benefitted the industry. Conferences are presented by experts in the field and can be great source of collecting information on something new.  Also a lot many things can happen at a conference may be some new opportunities might come your way.

Some people offer free conferences while some have paid conferences. Of course paid conferences are more than the unpaid ones. When you find about some SEO conferences and wish to attend it, it is important to check in few details especially when it is a paid conference.

The first thing to make sure is to find out the company organising the conference and the person presenting it. When you have details about these do some self research. The findings can give you an idea on what you can expect from the conference and whether you should attend it or not.

When you do think of attending conference make sure you are well dressed and reach on time as beginning of the conference is the best opportunity where you can introduce yourself and also get to know about other company executives attending it. Be attentive throughout the conference and keep taking notes which will be helpful for future references. Remember questions should not be asked for the sake of it instead ask intelligent questions wherever you think you are confused and need clarification. Wisely utilize the break timings to communicate with different people.

We often hear of dynamic and static websites but there are very few people who can actually judge the difference between these two. Most evident difference between the two for a SEO consultant is that dynamic site uses PHP or Javascript while static site uses HTML. A large number of sites on the Internet prefer to make their sites dynamic because they are easy to implement any changes in the website pages.

    static Vs Dynamic

If you think of SEO then undoubtedly static URL will be the best because they are liked by the search engines. However static websites are difficult to edit to implement any changes. This makes the job very tiring and frustrating especially when there is a big site for it seems virtually impossible to open each page of the site and refer to its coding. While in dynamic site
implementing the changes is no big deal. You can do the changes on only one master page and it will be carried to other web pages.

When dynamic URLS have a positive side the biggest downside of them is that they are disliked by search engines. They are usually seen in e-commerce stores, sites using content management systems for content generation, forums and blogs like WordPress or Mambo or any other site which uses database. Dynamic URLS generally use “?” while a static URL uses title of a post separated with hyphen “-”.

    They look something like this:

    Dynamic URL: http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=139587

    Static URL: http://www.varologic.com/SEO-SEM.aspx

Though static website is difficult to change but when it comes to search engine optimisation they undoubtedly win the battle over dynamic website. Static pages get indexed quickly and are a good source of driving people to the site. The main reason for this is that static website has a part of the page title in the URL. This gives an idea to the people of what they can expect to see in the page. If they find them interesting they will click through. But for dynamic URLS what you can find in the page cannot be judged.

Spider in the Internet world is an attribute given to the search engine robots which go through each site’s content and links before assigning a rank to it. Two main search engine spiders are Googlebot and Yahoo!Slurp. Spiders are programmed by humans and lack the ability to grasp in anything else but content. Hence Spider’s eye is important for a SEO company to rank high. A SEO company has better chances to rank higher if it optimises a website from the Spiders point of view.

    spiders eye for seo

Experts are trying to make the search engine spiders as efficient as a human but this will take quite a long time. For the time being it should be remembered that the spiders dislike images, flash animations, video and audio effects but humans like them the most. When you wish to have all these special effects on your website you need to ask one question what is the use of these effects if your site will not rank on the SERP which is the main place from where people will find your website. For better SEO it is better to avoid these.

But still if you wish to have these special effects then there are different SEO techniques which can make them search engine friendly and boost your site ranking. All the images on the site can be supported with the ALT tag. You can use a combination of keywords to fill in this tag. But make sure they do not look like keyword stuffing. In case of Flash animations ALT can be used to put in a small description about the product.

Links are important for ranking a website high on the search engines and this is the place where you can get cheated by others who put javascript links on your website. Such links are not visible to the search engines and so are not useful to boost your ranking. Different tools can be used to find such links and remove them.

When we think of the negatives involved in working at an executive level it is less important if the company is SEO company or not. In almost all the companies an executive is considered to be a donkey existing only for the sole purpose of fallowing orders. And when the donkey (executive) fails to follow orders rightly it has to be prepared to be nagged by the owner (boss).

    SEO company or executive

In reality an executive is the person who can take the company to the next level. The more efficient the executive is, the better the company prospers. For example if you are having a SEO executive who has complete knowledge of the subject then s/he can be of immense help to you because you can levy a major part of your burden on his/her soldiers and concentrate on other aspects of the management.

The efforts of a good SEO executive will increase the ranking of a website and s/he alone can bring in more clients to the company. The company progresses with the efforts of the SEO executive but how does this affect the executive? The answer to this question will probably be the answer to Why should you own a SEO Company and Not Work as a SEO Executive?

Job uncertainty is the biggest risk involved in working as an executive. You might work with all your will and put in more than what you can but still there is no certainty that the boss will never kick you out of the company. Often it is observed that when you are good at something the boss or the seniors develop inferiority complex against you and might play politics to get you kicked or force you to quit the job.

This uncertainty is missing when you own a SEO services providing company. Before you start a company many fears relating to the success or failure of the business will corner you. But when you ignore those fears and hop into your own venture you will soon feel that those fears are useless when you have the determination to succeed. Soon things will start changing and you will make profits, for the simple reason profit follows those who are determined to cage it.

SEO is an ever changing field and the latest change is expected to come with the introduction of HTML 5 a sequel to HTML 4 website presentation language. But this should not be a worry for all those related to online business of using HTML in their work like a SEO company, SEO expert, web designers and developers because challenge is what makes work interesting.

    HTML5 affect SEO

Sure, all SEO services providers out there will be thinking how will HTML 5 affect website ranking and SEO company? Since HTML 5 is in the introductory stage it cannot be exactly said how it will affect the SEO of a website. But what is heard of some of the new HTML 5 tags is really very impressive and sounds interesting.  It is a known fact that search engines use page segmentation while going through a page but SEOs have not found out a way which can tell the search engines how the page has been segmented.

The various new tags of HTML 5 are thought to be helpful to accelerate the process of SEO for any site. Here is a small description on a few of them and you are the best to know how to use them for your benefit.

    •    The <article> tag can be used to separate each entry on a single page. This will surely make the coding neater. The content between the tags can gain more importance.
    •    To identify different sections on a page the <section> tag can be used. Each section can be given individual name.
    •    The <header> tag is different from the <head> tag and can include paragraphs, coded links, and other relevant things.
    •    Then comes the <footer> tag it can also include relevant information and placed towards the end of a page or sections on the page.
    •    The <nav> tag will be useful to guide the search engines for easy navigation of the site.

The tile “Domain Name Important yet Often Neglected by SEO company” might definitely sound harsh but it is absolutely true that SEO company believes less in this techniques of website promotion. This is because they believe that when they have major SEO techniques in place then small issues like domain name gain less importance. From this perspective they are also true but it should be remembered that an old domain name is half SEO done.

    SEO importance domain names

Many SEO services providers are seldom forced with situations where the domain name needs to be changed for some reasons like the domain name is not relevant. This is a rare case but cannot be ignored. Still you can take a few steps which will make sure that though your website is new you will win the SEO battle in a short term.

While you register the domain name make sure you register it for a longer time. Some companies register it for a small term and gradually extend to larger term while some register it for a longer term from the beginning. A longer term domain name will pass on the message to the search engine that the site is here to stay and not a spam site which will disappear in a small time and establish its relevancy accordingly.

You can register a domain name even before you actually start working on it. There is no harm in doing so as it will gradually increase the age of the domain name which will be helpful whenever the site is constructed. You will not have to face any penalty for this as the search engine will only consider it as the site is under construction.

Look for a domain name which is available for resale. This will serve a twin purpose for you on one hand you will not have to face the “Sandbox effect” and on the other you can carry on with the same page rank the domain has. You will be lucky if it already has good page rank.

All SEO company know that Google mainly displays two types of results on the Search Engine Ranking Page (SERP) one being organic and the other paid ranking. The main question faced by people wanting to optimize their website is which is better Paid Ranking or Organic Ranking?

    organic or paid ranking

All SEO services providers have different methods of increasing the ranking of a website. Organic ranking refers to the use of links, content, keywords, website design, directories, forums, blogs etc., so that it influences the ranking of your site. It does not carry any cost but needs time and hard work. In organic ranking your site is ranked on the basis of the way it is optimized for the search engines.

The downside of organic ranking is sometimes it may take longer than expected to rank a site and also it is possible you may get lost in the process. A proper organic search engine ranking strategy needs to be formed to do it in the most beneficial way.

Paid ranking means you pay the search engines for listing your site on the search engine ranking page. They are generally displayed on the right hand side of the page under sponsored links and known as Pay-Per-Click (PPC). A high budget SEO campaign can go for PPC as the sites for the PPC are ranked in the sponsored links category on the basis of the highest bidder for a particular keyword. Every time you receive a click you have to pay the per click bid value to search engine. It is quick and ranks your site immediately without needing optimization which takes a long time.

Both these methods of search engine ranking are equal with their own limitations and advantages. If you have unlimited budget for immediate results then paid ranking is for you. But if you are working under limited budget and need long term ranking then you should go for organic ranking. Most of the SEO Company use pay-per-click method in the initial stage and then switch to organic ranking.

Search engine optimisation is the job of Search Engine Optimizer (SEO). Ranking of the website is important to have increased visibility on the search engine rankings page. Once you plan to enter the internet market you need to hire a SEO or SEO company to optimize your website for the search engines.

    avoid questions seo

In the process many people will ask the SEO services provider about their past work. It is an obvious question any company seeking to hire SEO will ask. However in reality this question is advised to be avoided while deciding upon SEO. As no prospective SEO will be willing to show their shortcomings and that not all keyword ranking were equally created.

Whenever a company is posed with such a question it will always show you all the good works it has done. It will show you client website for which it was able to get a higher rank possibly for less important keywords. It is quite possible that the SEO company might boost on some of the clients rankings but when you actually check you don’t find what was boosted upon because of the time gap.

Whenever the SEO work in undertaken both the companies agree to non disclosure agreement meaning if a company is showing you the previous clients’ details it is not trustworthy. Also many times you tempt to ask for references this is again not a good practice as references can be easily faked. You can effortlessly get someone to speak good about you.

The best way to hire a SEO is to first gain some basic knowledge on SEO and use it to have some detailed talk with the SEO consultant. Your knowledge on the subject will help you understand easily what the consultant has to offer. Lastly work hand in hand with your consultant and seek guidance wherever you think you are unable to get the point.
