    A true performer is the one who sustains fights back and emerges a winner amongst many odds. The recent Update in the PANDA algorithm has created waves and many sites have been hit. It was distinctively clear that the panda hates contentment farms and has downgraded low quality content making way for quality content and the most related websites for respective search terms.

    Google identifies the good quality and the bad quality sites. There were many mixed quality site that were badly hit due to this algorithm change. Google chrome had a feature where the user could block the site from his/her browsing. Google implemented the PANDA and then compared the results with the chrome blocked sites and it was matching in most of the cases. This shows that the algorithm has proved effective in chucking out the less authentic contents, and websites and promoting the useful sites up the order.

    1.    Trust

    The site which is trustworthy or where in the user would not mind using a credit card were given more importance. So trust becomes a major factor in evaluating a site.

    2.    Excessive ads

    Excessive ads hinder the importance of the original content that the site was designed for. And people visit not to get or find people promoting or advertising all over but for useful information related to the serch terms entered in Google.

    It is a truth known since long that everything can go wrong but what excels and stands by you is quality content. The Panda algorithm justifies this giving importance to original and trust worthy as well as relevant content.

    Tips to speed up your site:

    1.   Reduce or use lighter images and items that need to be loaded like the scripts, style sheets etc

    2.   Get a server that is fast and less loaded. A great server will serve your website to the world better and faster.

    3.   Save your images for the web, and know exactly when to use GIF, PNG and Jpeg.

                     -    Gif for very less colours, probably a logo or something
                     -    Jpeg for good quality coloured images
                     -    Png preserves transparency for high quality web images

    4.   Caching websites decreases the stress on the server. It runs static files thus enabling lesser queries, thus increasing the speed.

    5.   Use your CSS and Java files smartly and very much compressed, find common properties and define them only once, this will reduce unnecessary redundancy.

    6.   Using HTTP compression takes some efforts but is the most effective way of getting speed. Almost every browser and every server supports it.

    Google changes its criteria for better page ranks time and again thus proposing newer challenges for the SEO. The change is a positive one and a welcome one; because it is the visitor or the viewer oriented and definitely a step towards providing them a speedy and a better surfing.     Whenever we put in a word or phrase related to any product, service or information search engines return with results for the searches. They display 10 results a page. Each result is followed by a small description about the content of the page. This description is termed as a snippet or Meta description. It can be upto 155 characters long.

    Snippet gives an idea about the content of the page. Viewers can decide if they want to read the whole article or not on the basis of the snippet. However many SEO company have observed that a 155 character description is not enough to give an idea about the content of the page to the viewer, this is specially observed in case of long tail keywords. Hence the size should be increased.

    Even Google mentioned this on their blog post of 24th March: “When you enter a longer query, with more than three words, regular-length snippets may not give you enough information and context. In these situations, we now increase the number of lines in the snippet to provide more information and show more of the words you typed in the context of the page.”

    It is delighting to know that even google agrees with the SEO content writing service providers. But then we are posed with the question What should be the Perfect Length of a Snippet? I haven’t experimented using longer description tags but think we can do so. However your decision to write longer descriptions or not should be based on your observation. If you find Google showing up longer descriptions on the SERP then I think you can go for it.
     
    Nevertheless one important facet of using a longer tag means visitor will stay longer on Google and may not find the need to read the article or the page anymore. The description can be written using inviting language with a few keywords and should be partially inviting.
