You always have to pay a heft charge for your blunders, isn’t it? That is what Japan's Fair Trade Commission follows after all and has fined electronics manufacturer Sharp a whopping penalty of $3 million as part of an investigation into the price fixing of LCD modules for the original Nintendo DS model as also the DS Lite. A penalty which seems worth indeed!
In fact, Sharp has been instructed by the Commission to pay the free by March 19, 2009. Thanks to the Japanese vigilant FTC that noticed Sharp and Hitachi Displays conspired to control selling prices of their LCD panels to Nintendo.
Sharp on the other hand believes that it has not been involved in any of the activities that violate the antimonopoly law, and that it may request a hearing.
