SanDisk right now seems to have a
remedy for every situation as far as the storage front in the gadgets is
concerned. After unveiling a whopping 16GB micro SD card, the Deccan Herald
reports that it will not be too far from here when mobile phones will turn out
to be a virtual storehouse for videos, music, pictures and other useful
applications since SanDisk is in the process of developing 128GB micro-SD card.
The card is expected to roll out by
2011 and just imagine we will be able to hold around
134 full-length Indian movies, around 20,000 high resolution photos and 16,000
songs in our smartphones!
Seems that SanDisk is following
the tactics of Gordon Moore (cofounder of the Intel Corporation) who predicted
that the number of transistors on a microprocessor would double periodically
(approximately every 18 months). Now this is what Moore’s Law is all about!
