Well there is no dearth for specialized GPS units but the new BBNav device from UK-based Navevo certainly seems to be the first one that is designed specially to assist impaired drivers, or their families and caretakers.

    BBNav GPS

The GPS system comes pre-loaded with information over 10,000 "Blue Badge" parking bays and over 3500 disabled accessible car parks in 150 cities and towns in the UK. Not only that it also includes a database of Over 60,000 Points of Interest (20,000+ Blue Badge) that are easily accessible for people with disabilities.

With a 4.3-inch touchscreen, NAVTEQ maps of the UK and Ireland, and hands free Bluetooth calling capabilities, and many other good features this GPS is more than a standard unit. There is no disclosure on its pricing yet but those interested can sign up to be notified when it's available at the BBNav website.
