Well
Yahoo! has come up with a stunner – a cluster of highly impressive GPS-enabled
bicycles (sounds strange, isn’t it?). Not only that these bicycles come
equipped with cameraphones that will automatically shoot between suitable
time-intervals and upload the photos taken to Flickr to riders in cities across
the world.
To
everyone’s astonishment these bicycles are already in use in San
Francisco and New York and
expected to be seen pretty soon in Singapore,
Denmark and UK as well. I
am sure everyone wants an answer as to from what provides power to camera? Well
its solar panels, while on the other hand it is special software that uses the
phone's accelerometer to capture photos every minute automatically when the
bike is in motion.
Actually
there is a Nokia N95 cameraphone with a custom Python script inside which fires
off the shutter. What’s more you can also download Yahoo's ZoneTag software
onto your Symbian S60-powered handset, affixing the phone to your choice of vehicle
indeed!
