Get
ready to be thrilled by the exceptional performances of Michael Phelps and your
favourites at the summer Beijing Olympics. Just a few months back there was a
rumour that the China-based Lenevo will be released at the summer Olympics.
Well
some rumours do turn into reality like this one as the new Lenevo Ideapad U8
has made its official debut in China.
This device has been authorized by the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee and
will come with the following appealing set of specifications for your sheer
pleasure:
- 10.6 ounces
- Intel 800MHz Atom Z500
processor
- 1GB RAM (max. of 2GB)
- 6GB SSD
- Dual cameras
- 5-hour battery life
First
shown at CES 2008, the U8 is also connected to the hilt, with 802.11b/g wi-fi,
Bluetooth, GPS, and EDGE connectivity, not to mention "3G network support
and WiMAX Internet access". The best part is that the device works in
tandem with the CMMB (China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting) USB bluetooth dongle,
offering free, live coverage of the Olympic games in addition to other broadcast
signals. No hint yet on the pricing side though it is expected to be somewhere
near around the other high-end smartphones.
