Apple iphone 3g made its debut in India today with a style with Airtel and Vodafone network operators. After witnessing the long queues for owning an iphone 3g at its launch  in US, Europe and parts of Asia last month it was perfect time for apple to make its mark in India as well!

However a midnight launch in the Indian capital drew only a reasonable crowd but didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the four buyers who showed up at a Vodafone store in the city’s Connaught Place commercial district. For example a 14-year-old high school student, was among the first in the country to buy the iPhone a minute past midnight on Friday.

Well with Nokia announcing the launch of its convergence device Nokia N96 just a few days back it would be interesting as to which smartphone takes the domination in Indian shores. At the moment it's iphone 3g everywhere. Apple iPhone 3G would sell for Rs. 31000 and Rs. 36100 for the two models (8GB and 16GB) with Airtel and Vodafone as operating networks.
