    WiFi enabled micro SD cards

With all high tech cell phones having an option of micro SD card slot for memory extension, we have some news to cherish. The technology wizards are incorporating in-built WiFi antenna in these memory cards. Now we can leverage the WiFi enabled micro SD cards. Just as a layman, one can think of the WiFi capabilities in a non WiFi phone also with this technology. Good news! Thus, the cards become multi purpose. Japanese phones are in a spree to use this technology. We would soon see the outcome and thus will know the pros and cons of it.

To formulate a mobile broadband one needs USB modems and routers as requisites but what if one can do it without these peripherals? Now this whole phenomenon can be achieved by your mobile phone. Incredulous? You better believe it.

    Nokia E51 mobile broadband

With Nokia E51 mobile phone which consists of Symbian S60 platform and also has an embedded application Joikuspot, one can formulate a WiFi network. The Joikuspot converts the 3G signals into a WiFi network which can connect any WiFi device. A free and paid version of it are available, the free one limits itself by supporting only http protocols. While the paid one supports all protocols enabling you with email and other facilities you have longed for.

With such a Herculean task at hand, the device has a low battery life. Parallel working on 3G connection and WiFi network the battery loses out on all its energy reserves. The advantage is not carrying additional peripherals with you when you are on the go. Only your cell phone will suffice all the essentials.

The Joikuspot application can cater to Symbian S60 only, WMWifiRouter works the same for Windows mobile devices which consist of 3G and WiFi, but there is dearth of such applications for other iPhones. So better opt for Windows mobile or a S60 imbibed system. And reach out for your WiFi network anytime and anywhere!!

You all will agree that how important routers devices can be in helping you connect to the rest of the world in a jiffy! If you happen to live in Portland; bring a broad smile to your face as Clearwire's earlier announcement of the CradlePoint-manufactured portable WiMAX-equipped WiFi router way back this January is all set to hit the stores this month as the Clear Spot Personal Hotspot.

    Clearwire Clear Spot Wifi router

Wow, that’s indeed a great piece of news as up to eight 802.11 b/g-compatible devices will be able to share the 4Mbps bandwidth.

$139 is what you need to pay just for the unit, while you definitely have to pay something extra to actually use the service. Wifi/WiMax router certainly at its best!

We all know that 3G routers can work miracles for its users; but the penetration level is indeed too low as of now as hardly do we make use of such widgets! Mobile broadband router is one area that has been touched upon by Ericsson as it tries to make them reach even to the common man!

Ericsson W3x Series Mobile Broadband Routers

The Ericsson W30 Data Router and Ericsson W35 Data and Voice Router on the left and right side of the picture respectively can really prove to be absolutely excellent gadgets. Well, after all they can support HSPA / UMTS / GSM data and sling it out over WiFi and Ethernet, as well as share a USB printer, with the W35 adding in voice and fax capability as well.

There is no word on price or availability yet on these Ericsson's W3x Series HSPA Mobile Broadband Routers, so stay tuned till we have some more information to share with you!

Mobile phones have turned into smartphones quite a long time back now as most of us use them as multimedia instruments (e-mails; web browser; organiser; music) instead of just using them as an instrument meant for making or receiving calls! This fact has compelled handset manufacturers to add Wi-Fi feature in their phones!

Pantech WPP 8000 WiFi cell phone

Pantech has joined the rat-race competition and rolled out a new WPP-8000 WiFi cell phone. It got launched in South Korea through LG Dacom with the phone making use of the LG Daco's myLG070 service that indeed allows users to access the Internet using a wireless LAN connection known as iHub, which means that you will be able to fetch several snippets of news such as world happenings; weather information; as also stock details without additional data charges.

What’s more, Pantech WPP-8000 Wi-Fi cell phone boasts other added features such as Caller ID support and text messaging and as you can see in the picture, it has got a small display!
