Are still stuck to your old sleek mobile and thinking of exchanging it with another sleek one, believe me the S-shaped handsets can completely be a stunner for you thrown by NOKIA. Being from the stable of Nokia concept phones, the S-shaped mobile phone is the outcome of company’s focus on comfortable handiness and usability of the phone.

Nokia Concept Phone

About design: the unique or bizarre (to some of you) has a balanced structure with top being lighter than the bottom giving a good grip. The phone looks tempting, glossy and strange breaking the Nokia mobile phones stereotypical form factor. Although some thinks that it won’t be cosy inside your pockets but I don’t feel so, but yes they would look bulky.

About the Designer: the phone has been designed by Heikki Juvonen who is an Industrial Designer, studied in 4 different nations. His philosophy is to render fresh and healthier solutions. He firmly believes that a product should excel in all phases all over their life cycle.

Pricing and availability: the phone is a concept phone, so nothing can be said on its commercialisation but one thing that we are pretty sure of is that the phone wont be able to fit in your budget.

The Nokia E63  messaging device is an addition to Nokia E family known for QWERTY keypads containing E71 as well. The difference between E71 and E63 is on the lines of marketing and some features. E63 is designed more as a bit mass-market version being lesser priced than E71 keeping the business features as it is. Nokia aims it to appease those consumers seeking for an integrated professional and personal mobile solution since you can very easily switch between the po-faced or professional view and personal view.

Good news for all the Nokia fans out there as the FCC has finally approved the N79, the revised version to N78. The N79 is all about a decent Carl Zeiss optics 5 megapixel camera with an added keypad making your thumbs work a bit easier than before! (N78 doesn’t have keypad). Like every other Nokia Mobile Phone, this too is an impressive one!

Nokia N79

3G Connectivity, GPS, WiFi is what this mobile wonder is all about! With the FCC stymies out of the way and the handset well prepared on the radio area, it will not be a surprise to see a quick North American release sometime in the coming months.

The Nokia 7110 slide seems to be an act of refurbishing the Nokia 7110 that was discontinued long time back. You may get startled to witness such a low range of features offered by Nokia 7110 slide falling under the Nokia 7000 series handsets. With this kind of minimalist features, obviously it can’t target the premium or high-end users. It has to target medium to low market.

Nokia 7110 slider

The phone seems well for normal usage and the handset design can be viewed on Czech mobile website. However you may not be convinced with the prices after taking a look at the tech specs. Although seeing QVGA resolution in the lower midrange segment seems the right approach to woo the Christmas sales.

Technical Specifications

  • Network - Triband GSM/EDGE
  • Display - QVGA display
  • Camera - 1.3 megapixels camera
  • Memory - microSD slot
  • FM radio

Price and availability: the estimated retail price of the Nokia 7100 is suspected to be 200 euro but it sounds impractical. It should hardly be selling above euro 200. Let’s wait for official announcement on prices and availability before making any further assumptions.

Well Concept Phones are being popped out every now and then by the design houses and mobile makers and this time around its Mac Funamizu at Petitinvention who has come up with a sensational stuff.

Nokia Mac Concept

This Nokia concept phone is directly inspired by the so called Apple Mac Phone and so there is no doubt that the creative brainchild behind this is a die hard Apple fan. Now this is why the phone has been given the name of being Mac Phone. Anyways talking about this excellent Concept Mac Phone, it sports a brilliant QWERTY and numeric keypad and ofcourse a catchy touchscreen that surely gives a feel of the white Mac.

What’s more the phone is designed beautifully without any borders although there is no word on its technical specs or the operating system. Full marks to Mac Funamizu, a web/graphic designer working in Tokyo, Japan.

As the demand for touchscreen phones taking pace so Nokia search the opportunity by solving the most frequently done complains about the touchscreen. One of the biggest complain against any touchscreen phone is its lack of reaction to the physical sensation while pressing the virtual keys. This even leaves the users baffled in respect to effectiveness of his action.

Nokia touchscreen

What Nokia has done is completely groundbreaking. A button is given beneath the touchscreen that acts as a small pump filling a liquid beneath the display. By this, liquid is injected beneath the display instills the sensation of touching and pressing something real that you can actually feel. A plastic case intrudes contact between the LCD panel and liquid.

Well with that we have to commend the efforts of Rune Larsen, the master designer behind this idea. As for now there are no updations on which Nokia mobile phones this technology will be downloaded to but obviously this seems to be the costly affair.

For all those green freaks, Nokia’s eco-team has designed a phone crafted completely from wooden body. What more interesting about this innovative product is its positioning in the minds of consumers. Actually the wooden phone will competition to the designer phones which are made from metallic bodies and studded with diamonds and crystals.

Nokia Wooden Phone

Talking about the features that the wooden phone is likely to have is 8-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, speaker and a Symbian S60 Operating System. The Nokia eco-friendly wooden body would be made from timber, considered sustainable and reliable.

Nokia Wooden Concept

The eco-friendly wooden Nokia concept if realized sometime in the future will open the channels for environment-conscious, cell phone users, searching for a phone free from polluting or contaminating the environment with its toxic objects. The look is absolutely natural reminding you of the early men ages and it more beautifully accommodated with advanced technical features can make it most wanna be device. As for now there is no update on price and availability.
