Camera phones seem to have taken the major share of mobile phone markets besides the fact the picture quality from mobile phone camera can’t compete with the quality of those taken by real digital cameras although your phone's camera is the handiest thing for capturing incidental events of your life instantly. So we though to get you some easy and crisp tricks to click some better snaps from your mobile phone camera.

  1. Always avoid low light: Camera phones because comparative less shutter speed have obscurity clicking pictures in low-light environments. So its always recommendable to get your shots done in bright environments as it provides a faster shutter speed and more depth of field.

  2. Hold the camera as still as possible: If you are taking picture in low light, the consequences are the very low shutter speed so the image may get blurred if you move the phone while you shoot.

  3. Keep away from backlighting: light source should be considered first before snapping a picture because the subject will appear darker if it is coming from behind your object. So always stand with the light behind you, not behind your object.

  4. Draw your subject close: Mobile-phone camera lenses are good at capturing details in a wide area but not a deep one. So the far away object will appear undersized and unclear. One meter distance is appropriate for the camera.

  5. Use the Rule of Thirds: The rule of thirds isn’t a rocket science; it’s just a guide line. Divide your image into three equal horizontal rows and three equal vertical columns; this can get the most attractive result if the intersection points are placed at major point of interest of the lines or along the lines.

  6. Always prefer High Quality resolution setting: always switch on the high quality picture option although it takes a bit more space, howver you’ll be able to capture good images.

  7. Use the Flash: As we said in first point that camera phones aren’t great at handling low light so turning on the flash will protect your images from underexposure on the cost of your battery power which is negotiable.

  8. Right Angle: it’s always beneficial to keep your phone at right angle whether vertical or horizontal as it induces stillness to camera.

  9. Adjust the white balance: You can customize your setting according to the type of lighting. You can stick to auto setting if unsure of lighting.

  10. Avoid digital zoom: The image gets pixilated if it is clicked in zoom mode so it better to draw your object closer. However you can rely on Optical zoom if its there in your phone.

  11. Have idea on the shutter lag: You must always have a good idea on the time lag between the moment you press the button and the moment the picture is captured.

  12. Don’t be so hasty using delete button: The picture that’s looking pixilated on phone could look just perfect on your computer screen, so be hasty deleting images.

  13. Follow Clean lens clean pictures rule: good photographers always take care of their lenses especially as they are the heart of camera so always wipe lens with sof and mild cleaning clothe to avoid scratches as well.

  14. Turn on the resolution: unless the picture messaging is the only purpose, turn on the resolution.

  15. Keep experimenting: if you don’t succeed at first chance, just keep experimenting on your own with different angles, lighting and settings.
