Electronic communications technology has improved drastically in recent times. Transferring data to and from mobile devices has become a child’s play these days. Mobile phones, laptops, printers, PDA’s and personal computers incorporate this technology for faster transfer of data within short range. It has been over a decade since the birth of Bluetooth technology. Interestingly, the Bluetooth was named after a Danish ruler who has a soft spot for blueberries used for tooth staining. To most people who have not used Bluetooth headsets, this technology sounds alien and complicated. However, contrary to general notion, Bluetooth headsets do not just add luxury to our lifestyle; they also are indispensable in certain domains such as the air force and satellite navigation. Imagine an air force pilot using a bulky headset to communicate with the ground personnel!

There are several advantages of using Bluetooth headsets, as described below:

    Wireless Operation

You must be familiar with the advantages of wireless devices. Using a wire-free device makes your life simple. A clutter of wires may be dangerous too, especially for children and elderly. While travelling, wired gadgets create many problems, especially in terms of storage. On the other hand, a wireless device takes less space and can be used conveniently with a variety of gadgets without connecting cables.

    Affordable

Bluetooth headsets are cost efficient in the long run. As wired devices often damage faster, their cost of maintenance is high. A Bluetooth headset, on the other hand, requires little or no maintenance, thus attracting lesser costs.

    Hassle free experience

Bluetooth headsets connect automatically. You do not have to go through a complicated tech process to connect two Bluetooth devices. Two Bluetooth gadgets, when allowed, set up their personal area network, and connect automatically.

    Energy consumption

Thanks to the low power signals used by Bluetooth headsets, the power consumption is low. Unlike a wired headset, a Bluetooth headset will not drain your gadget’s battery, thus making you enjoy your travel.

    Voice & data transfer

Bluetooth devices can share both voice and data communications. For instance, you can transfer songs, files and videos from one Bluetooth mobile to another within seconds. You can also connect a Bluetooth phone to your laptop and browse the Internet.

While it is not advisable to talk while driving, with a Bluetooth headset you can take important calls on the go, without having to leave the steering wheel, or stop the car. Even while working, you can take calls conveniently using a Bluetooth headset. Holding a mobile phone over a long period can pain your hands. Bluetooth headsets, however, offer you a relaxing communication experience so that you can make the most out of conversation. You can plug in a Bluetooth headset while jogging or exercising, and enjoy your favourite songs. Look out for Bluetooth headsets that employ Active noise reduction (ANR) technology. This feature reduces the ambient noise from your surroundings, thus eliminating the need to repeat words while talking.  Bluetooth headsets with digital signal processing (DSP) help reduce/eliminate the background noise to bring crystal clear sound to your ears.

Finally you can do something with your worn out pair of glasses and old LCD monitor. You can turn it into a privacy monitor, only viewable while wearing the polarized or so called magical glasses. With few tools like a pair of glasses, x-acto knife, some solvent, tissue papers, screw driver and such and little effort you can make it by yourself. The following steps are easy to follow and will help you make one for yourself and let the people around you think that you have gone crazy..!!!

Step 1: Take the monitor apart and unscrew all the screws from the flap.

Step 2: Next you need to cut down the polarized film using the cutting tool along the edges. Most LCD monitors have two films on the display screen – a polarized screen to filter the light and a frosted anti-glare film. Once cut, start peeling off and make sure to save & remember the orientation the polarized film.

    Step 3:
On removal of the film the glue is likely to stick on to the glass. Clean this messy screen with the help of some solvent and wipe it with the paper towels.

Step 4: After cleaning the glass screen assemble everything back the way it was. The screen appears to be white and now you can test the monitor with the polarized film before making the glasses.

Step 5: Remove the lenses from your glasses, scan and trace the parts. Cut the polarized film so as to fit your glasses one by one. Finally assemble it and get yourself ready for the chills & thrills that your new sunglasses might offer to you.

You can see the screen only with the polarized glasses, rest of the time the screen appears to be white. It is a great way if you want to keep your data confidential while travelling, at home or in office.

Uncharted 3:Drake’s Deception released 2 weeks ago is a glorious meld of visual interactivity and narrative vernacular of Hollywood. The game is very engaging from beginning to end and is considered to be far better than its counterparts in terms of graphics. The plot of the game is focused on the ring on necklace worn by Nathan Drake which will lead them to the Iram of the pillars; a city lost somewhere in Arabia and the lost treasure.

    Uncharted 3:Drake’s Deception

You can find the old cast as well as some great new faces in Uncharted 3. The adventures of Nathan Drake and Sully continue and this time they are tangling with Katherine Marlowe and Talbot. It is all about good guys and bad guys and how finally, the good wins over the evil, chase between the good and the bad etc. just another ordinary story. But what makes Uncharted 3 different from the rest is the way of presentation and the interactivity it offers which makes the game more engaging.

    Uncharted 3:Drake’s Deception

The game includes interesting multi-player options but the heart of the game is to play it alone. The engaging storyline, character performances, dramatic cinematography and lush visual production, the game offers the most interactive gaming platform and is a real entertainer. The Naughty Dog once again outdid them and presents players with so many epic moments. There are many discreet elements of the game – shooting, puzzle solving, climbing, running, storytelling and so on and so forth. The best thing about this game is it makes you feel as if watching a movie.

    Uncharted 3:Drake’s Deception

The game has become the most exclusive franchise for PSP and is real roller coaster; one of the most enjoyed and admired games in the industry so far. With popular games like Battlefield 3 and call of duty: Modern Warfare 3, Uncharted 3 ought to appeal to a broader mass with its series of unexpected events. Those who dream about being commandos will definitely love this and often will misguide it as a movie.

So what are you waiting for, if still don’t have hands on it and a game freak, you won't like to miss this game as it is worth playing and being a PSP compatible you won’t be disappointed with the clarity, crystal clear sound quality and its high quality graphics.

The device uses 10 watts of power and hence charges your hardware faster than ordinary chargers. When you only need to power up your iPad or iPhone, disconnect the plugbug from your MacBook adapter which makes it act as a standalone charger. A great idea whilst travelling or work, as you can charge of two devices at the same time.

The charger is designed to connect all MacBook power adapters (Air, Standard and Pro). Thus it eliminates the need of carrying separate chargers for your apple devices; you can charge them all using this amazing sleek and compact device.

The Creative Director at Twelve South, Andrew Green said, “PlugBug is a dream product for us. It improves on MacBook’s own Power Adapter, adds a completely new idea to iPad/iPhone chargers, and it simplifies the lives of die-hard Apple fans – like me – who carry multiple Apple devices wherever they go.”

You must be thinking – Why is Plugbug red? Guy Kawaski, author and Mac Evangelist insisted it to be red so that it can be easily found even if kept in any corner of the room or far away distance. You can take home this little beauty by paying off $34.99 from the Twelve South website.

Nokia recently showed off a working prototype of a kinetic device with OLED screen at Nokia World in London. This is a concept device and is not going to be available in the market soon. You need bend and twist to switch across the functionalities.

    Nokia kinetic concept device

Nokia’s kinetic concept device though not the first flexible concept gadget but it’s the first one to go beyond the mockup and rendering, come out as a real, usable product. You need to hold the device with your two hands and flex the gadget, along with the screen to interact with it. You bow in and out to zoom in and out of the photos in the gallery. One more bow out draws you to the main menu, whilst you twists the sides to move forward and backward.

Twisting mechanism of the device would further add thrill to gaming, where you flex to move left or right and bow in and out to increase the speed and brakes. Rather many modifications still ought to be done on this, and this is not the final product, a mere prototype. There are many questions regarding to its functioning like how to make a call, send an SMS or how much internal storage it offers, OS, RAM it integrates, processor and such. Also its quite inconvenient to access it with one hand, Nokia must take in to consideration such and many other aspects prior to designing the final product.

What if you have a camera that lets you refocus the images even after hours, days and weeks? Lytro with its new light field camera promises to offer you these in tiny little boxes. The camera captures the entire light field in a picture, allowing you to focus on individual elements.

Its shape shows resemblance to a kid’s toy, more than anything else. This little wonder is made from anodized aluminum and silicone skin beautifully hiding the biggest shift in camera technology, apart from digital cameras. The camera comprises of an 8x zoom lens with an f/2 aperture, and glass touchscreen around the back, which allows you to touch any portion of the image to reset the focus on that part of the image. The light field sensor can capture 11 million light rays.

The camera only features two buttons, power on and shutter. The 1.46 inch touch screen lets you view the pictures and spontaneously change their focus. It also removes the typical lag while taking pictures on a regular camera. It is the first one of its kind, allows you to focus the pictures after being taken, amazing isn’t it? The cameras are available in two versions, the 8GB version can hold 350 pictures and cost $399 whilst the 16GB version can hold 750 pictures and costs $499.

Now you can treasure your beautiful moments and can share your photos on facebook and have your friends and family members manipulate the same. Lytro cameras will hit the market in “early 2012”. You can pre-order them from today itself. More details are coming up for this, and will keep you updated about it.

Yet another amazing result of innovation, intelligence and technology, which once again surprised us with its features and beauty. Sparsh allows you to conceptually transfer data from one digital device to your body and by simple touch gestures pass it on to another device.

    data transfer using sparsh

It offers a completely new method of interaction to endlessly transfer text, videos, and pictures, between to devices sing an underlying cloud. All you need is just touch whatever you want to copy, which is then saved into your body. Here your body conceptually acts as storage media. Next, touch the digital media where you want to paste the saved content.

If you want to see some pictures on your laptop, select (copy) the pictures by touching them and then pass it on to the laptop screen with a simple touch. Sparsh uses touch based interaction for the transfer, what to copy and where to paste, whilst technically the actual transfer takes place on the cloud. SPARSH has revolutionized the way we transfer data on digital medias, a miracle.
