Samsung, the Korean consumer electronics behemoth unveiled the eco-friendly addition to its bioplastic range of phones yesterday in Beijing as reported by the New York Times. Samsung E200 Eco is made from a corn-based bioplastic with Samsung claiming that this bio-friendly plastic is not only easier to dispose off, but also
consumes less oil, produces less carbon than its oil-based counterparts.
With Samsung Mobile phones expectations do shoot up indeed! This new E200 Eco cellphone may not stand out very much based on its specs, which
include a 1.3 megapixel camera and MP3 player functionality, but the company is
hoping that folks will take notice of it for its casing made of corn indeed! According to the sources it will be available
in Europe sometime next month.
